"Cassandre, The Voice of an Angel", "The Dutton's",
and the Veterans War Memorial Museum.
We also also had some fun meals at Bandana's BBQ in Lake of the Ozarks,
Uptown Cafe, Hero's Tastes & Taps,
Mel's Hard Luck Diner, & Lambert's Cafe in Ozark, MO.

We started the trip celebrating St Patrick's Day. Everyone dressed in green and got into the spirit of the Irish. We visited the Rock n Soul Museum in Memphis, TN. Amy celebrated her birthday while on the trip. We had King's Cake the day we arrived in New Orleans.
We visited the above-ground cemetery, the WWII Museum, Mardi Gras World, Jackson Square, Bourbon Street, St. Louis Cathedral, the French Quarter, the Destrehan Plantation, the Mississippi Agricultural & Forestry Museum, and the National Ornamental Metal Museum.
We took the Creole Queen excursion boat down the Mississippi River and saw the Chalmette Battlefield where the Battle of New Orleans was fought and won by New Orleans. We also had a fabulous Mardi Gras Dinner Party where we "Let the Good Times Roll".

Our first attraction was the Electric Trolley Tour in Troy, WI where we picked up a boxed lunch along the trolley route and then picnicked at the end of the line. That evening we had a lovely dinner in the old Historic Baker House....complete with fashionable hats, or not so fashionable. Our full day in Lake Geneva was spent on the lake. First we rode on the Mail Boat that delivered mail to residents around lake. Did you happen to see that Santa has a summer home on the lake? Our mail jumper was very seasoned and made the jump back onto the boat look effortless every time. Of course we learned all about the rich and famous homes built back in the 1880's. In the afternoon we toured one of the lake houses...Conrad Seipp, a Chicago Beer Baron, named his summer home Black Point Estate. That night we enjoyed a magic show from Tristan Crist. How did he do it? Our activity for the last day was Ten Chimneys, a summer home created by Broadway legends Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne. We felt like we had lived like the rich and famous during the Gilded Age.

Christmas weekend at the Palmer House Hotel in Chicago December 12-13, 2015

Christmas at the Palmer House was such a beautiful weekend trip. We stayed right downtown in the Loop, walk-able to the German Christmas Market, theaters, Millennium Park and shopping. Dinner was included at the famous Walnut Room in Macy's (the original Marshall Fields). The weather was unseasonably warm which meant more time to walk around downtown. On the way home, we had a fun game of a Christmas Gift Exchange that added to the festive spirit of the trip.
